The Mohegan Sun Tribe put on a presentation in front of 50 to 75 people in Springfield about its proposed plans to build a casino gambling in Palmer, reports WWLP.

Casino gambling is currently illegal in Massachusetts. Mohegan Sun promised thousands of jobs if its internet casino is built in Palmer, according to WWLP.

But not everyone at the presentation was in favor of casino gambling.

“I know in the first years after Atlantic City there was a big increase in homelessness. There was a big increase in crime. Property values at first went up and then went way way down,” Joseph Gervasini said, according to WWLP.
